Dr. Robert Spetzler was named #1 top neurosurgeon again for 2014 and made the cover of Top Doctors.

Interviewer: You were named “Best Brain Surgeon” . You know that makes you a rock star, right?

Dr. Spetzer: "Although I have been privileged to take on the most difficult and challenging cases from around the world, it is the rare poor outcome, despite our best efforts, that keeps me from being a “rock star.” However, the patients who entrust their life to our care are, in my mind, the real “rock stars.”

And THAT is why he is amazing... no matter how great you are at something, never let praises make you believe you have achieved the top, even if the whole world think you have.

Here is the whole Interview:

NEUROLOGICAL SURGERY
Dr.Robert Spetzler
Med School/Year Graduated: Northwestern University School of Medicine, 1971
Years in Practice: 37
What inspired you to become a brain surgeon?
My first health care experience, as a 5-year-old child in Germany, shaped my views about medicine. After contracting tetanus, I was one of the first to receive a new miracle drug – penicillin – for what had been a usually fatal disease. After months in the hospital and the subject of much medical attention, I was convinced that I wanted to help save the lives of others.
One of your breakthrough aneurysm removal surgeries required inducing hypothermia and clinical death in the patient. Describe it.
In order to successfully treat otherwise inoperable brain aneurysms, we helped pioneer a surgical procedure at Barrow [Neurological Institute] that involves cooling the body to 15 degrees centigrade or lower, eliminating blood flow from the body and stopping the heart. At such low temperatures, the brain and other organs can survive without harm for as long as 60 minutes – enough time to clip and deflate the brain aneurysm. We have conducted more than 100 of these surgeries, by far the most of any hospital in the world.
What is the most significant advance in your field in the past 10 years?
There are many and include molecular profiling to be able to provide personalized treatments tailored for particular diseases... and the evolution of microsurgery.
What do you do to keep your own brain sharp?
There are many things I do to keep my mind sharp. I am an avid biker, skier, swimmer and marathoner. The daily interactions with our... hardworking residents and colleagues at Barrow also keep me on my toes.
You were named “Best Brain Surgeon” by the Phoenix New Times, and were profiled in Der Spiegel. You know that makes you a rock star, right?
Although I have been privileged to take on the most difficult and challenging cases from around the world, it is the rare poor outcome, despite our best efforts, that keeps me from being a “rock star.” However, the patients who entrust their life to our care are, in my mind, the real “rock stars.”

There are no doubts that Dr.Spetzler is the best of the best, but there are others that are amazing too. Here is a list of very successful neurosurgeons that operates the brainstem.    HERE

  22. I would like someone to help me with a serious case of "Telepathy Soulmate Connection" no one takes me serious enough to tell me the truth about it so i need other people that are willing to preform test to insure that the ability is absolutely real. I might sound crazy but i figured out that my memory has grown increasingly and the number of people that are actually connect is the mass population of my city through ether direct or indirect eye contact I know this to be true through having conversations in my head and people further expressing it later in life when they were never around at the time or not unless they were actually in my head. im able to transmit full images of thought through multiple people. ive done little tests on the ability knowing that all the people connected act as if it isn't really to a certain point based on what ever reason that may be. i noticed 7 and a half years ago is when i started hearing voices based on meeting someone in life, that's why i believe that its a soulmate connection . i have no idea what the distance of this ability and i have no idea if there is a way to reverse the ability, or any benefits to it? please do not think this is a joke there is no one to help me with this delema. If you cannot help me with this situation would you know anyone that could any where in this world? Please get back to me ASAP Thank you. i feel as if the people inside my head will try to not let this go through. this is a serious matter there in no bullshit in this situation if you need proof come find me my name is Sheldon Cheyenne McLeod born 1993 May 04 my doctor is Glen Burchett but do not listen to anyone but yourself under these circumstances please take me serious enough to get this checked out for yourself thanks

I have a brother just 14 year old,and he is struggling with the paralysis since 5 years.
As per the consulted by too many Doctors they said he has the attack by spinal cod.
Actually the case is when he was just 2 year old he got an accident with the ceiling was drop on his whole body, but on that time by the ct scan and many more test not said that he has any problem with spinal injuries.
When he was 8 year old suddenly in one night his whole body got paralysis.
And the doctor said their is no new problem,it is related with the any old case.
and doctor said their is no midicine will recover him only exercise can but under physiotherapist.
And now more than 3-4 year under physio after continued exercise he is now running with the walker and the Neurologist suggested for AFO SHOES AND GETTERS.
But his body from waist to bottom not getting the strength.
Botox are also given to him.
Please advice for your best suggestion.
